By accessing and using TeachHint ("the Service"), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. These terms apply to all users of the service.

2. Description of the Service

TeachHint is a platform that uses artificial intelligence to assist in the evaluation of academic submissions. The service includes:

  • Automatic evaluation of academic documents
  • Batch processing of multiple submissions
  • Generation of reports and grades
  • Analysis based on custom rubrics
Nature of the service: The evaluations are generated by AI and should be considered as support tools, not as definitive evaluations without human supervision.

3. Eligibility and Registration

  • You must be over 18 years of age or have parental authorization
  • You must provide truthful and up-to-date information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account
  • You must immediately notify any unauthorized use
  • A natural or legal person may only have one account

4. Acceptable Use

4.1 Permitted Uses

  • Evaluation of academic works for educational purposes
  • Assistance in grading processes
  • Analysis of educational content
  • Academic research (with the corresponding limitations)

4.2 Prohibited Uses

It is strictly forbidden:
  • Upload illegal, offensive or copyright-infringing content
  • Attempt to hack, compromise or interrupt the service
  • Create automated accounts or use bots
  • Share access credentials with third parties
  • Use the service for discriminatory or harassing purposes
  • Process sensitive personal information without consent
  • Resell or redistribute access to the service without authorization

5. User Responsibilities

  • Maintain the security of your account and password
  • Ensure that the evaluation content has the necessary rights and permissions
  • Respect applicable local and international regulations
  • Use the service in accordance with institutional policies

6. Service Limitations

TeachHint provides AI-assisted evaluations that may not be 100% accurate. Educators should review the results before using them in academic grading processes.

7. Service Availability and Maintenance

  • We strive to maintain high availability
  • There may be interruptions for scheduled maintenance
  • We are not responsible for third-party interruptions

8. Prices and Payments

8.1 Pricing Model

The service operates under a pay-per-use model based on:

  • Number of evaluations processed
  • Complexity and size of documents
  • AI resources used

8.2 Billing

  • Costs are calculated automatically
  • You are charged for each successfully completed evaluation
  • Evaluations that fail due to system errors are not charged
  • Prices may change with 30 days prior notice

8.3 Refunds

Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis for evaluations that fail due to verifiable system errors.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 Our Rights

  • TeachHint, its code, design and brand are our property
  • You may not copy, modify or distribute our software
  • You may not use our trademarks without express authorization

9.2 Your Rights

  • You retain all rights to the content you upload
  • The results generated by AI are your property
  • You can export and use the results freely

10. Limitation of Liability

IMPORTANT - Limits of Liability:

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for:

  • Indirect, consequential or punitive damages
  • Loss of data, profits or opportunities
  • Errors in AI evaluations
  • Decisions made based solely on our results
  • Service interruptions
  • Actions of third parties (including OpenAI)

Maximum limit: Our total liability will not exceed the amount paid by you in the last 12 months.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify us against any claim arising from:

  • Your misuse of the service
  • Violation of these terms
  • Infringement of third party rights
  • Illegal or inappropriate content you upload

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by you

  • You can cancel your account at any time
  • Data will be deleted according to our retention policy
  • Payments made are non-refundable except in exceptional cases

12.2 Termination by us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these terms of service
  • You engage in fraudulent activities
  • You do not pay outstanding invoices
  • We decide to discontinue the service

13. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms. Significant modifications will be notified at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

14. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain and any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Madrid.
